It is the mission of the Garden District Needlework Shop to provide quality products and services to our customers.
Special orders must be paid for in advance and cannot be canceled, exchanged, or returned for store credit.
GDNS staff will special-order any quantity of regularly stocked yarn. Requirements for special orders of non-stock items will be explained by GDNS staff.
GDNS has needlepoint catalogs from which customers may make selections.
GDNS staff will notify customers if their “special orders” are back-ordered and customers will be given the option of waiting for the orders to be shipped or to cancel them.
All GDNS needlepoint canvasses are hand-painted. Additional painting on canvasses, such as names and dates, is considered a special order and will be priced according to work done.
CUSTOM THREAD SELECTION
We are happy to pull threads for needlepoint projects. However, once customers have approved choices, there will be no refunds or exchanges.
GDNS employs the services of professional finishers to finish needlepoint projects for customers. Most finishing is retuned to GDNS in 8 to 12 weeks. Complicated finishing may take longer.
GDNS staff will be happy to discuss finishing options and prices. The cost of finishing is the same whether fabric is supplied by the finisher or by the customer.
All items mailed by GDNS are now sent by “Priority” mail. Shipping and handling charges will be based on the actual cost of mailing with a small handling fee.
GDNS offers classes, workshops, and private lessons. These require pre-registration and a non-refundable deposit. Deposits will be refunded if events are cancelled.
GDNS staff members are dedicated to helping customers with the selections of patterns, yarns, canvasses, threads, and tools They are available to answer questions customers may have as well as to assist with small problems. If, however, customers have chosen patterns and/or stitches that are beyond their skill levels, GDNS staff will recommend classes or private lessons.
Exchanges or returns within 14 days will be given a store credit only, and there will be a 20% restocking fee charged. There are no exchanges or returns on needlepoint canvasses, threads, Paternayan wool, kits, books, magazines, patterns, or items.
SALE ROOM There are no special orders of sale room yarns. GDNS staff cannot answer phone inquiries about sale room inventory. All sales are final.
BONUS POINTS Items qualifying for bonus points are determined by GDNS and may be changed at any time. Bonus point redemption is limited to $5.00 per total purchase and will be applied to purchases of $10.00 or more.
NEEDLEPOINT KITS Kits contain the amount of materials we used to make the model, plus at least 10% extra. If you need additional materials, they are available, but not included in the kit price. Please keep the bands from each skein of thread to insure the correct type and color. Dye lots may vary. Customers wishing to change threads from those included may do so, but, will be charged for those threads. No credit will be given for kit threads not used.
GDNS staff cannot copy any patterns from books or magazines. It is against the law to do so.
Although every effort is made to keep our Website up-to-date, there are occasions when an item may be shown as available when it has already been sold. Should a customer wish to “special order” an item, GDNS staff will do so. If the item on the Website is on sale, however, the “special order” will be charged at the regular full price.
